«OLD SAREPTA AND THE VOLGA-DON CANAL»

Antiquity enthusiasts will certainly be interested in the settlement of German colonists of Perguntaram in Sarepta. In the distant 1765, during the reign of Catherine the Great, they arrived here to do missionary work. Colonists made an invaluable contribution to the development of the region. 

You will be able to see preserved public and residential buildings, their dwellings, utensils, and books. 

Additionally, you will get an opportunity to taste mustard oil, which has been recognised to be the best back in 1870 at the exhibition in Kazan, as well as try out “Sareptinskii” gingerbread and watermelon honey. 

When visiting the southern regions of Volgograd, you will stop by the waterfront of Krasnoarmeisky district, admire the views of the Volga river and pass to the gatewaynumber1 of the Volga-Don canal. Here, on the waterfront, you will see the greatest monument to the ever lived man- the100 metre Lenin monument.
